SUSAN COOPER

Susan Cooper has given a $7 million gift to The Campaign for Cranbrook in support of Cranbrook Institute of Science. The gift is multi-faceted, providing support for an expanded world-class anthropology hall; endowment funds for programming and staff; and operations. An Institute of Science governor and a graduate of Cranbrook's Kingswood School, Cooper once worked at the Institute's mineral store while attending Kingswood, and possesses a lifelong passion for science, history and education.

MAXINE FRANKEL

Cranbrook Trustee Maxine Frankel and her husband Stuart have made a $10 million commitment to the Campaign in support of Cranbrook Academy of Art and Art Museum -- the largest made to Cranbrook since founders George and Ellen Booth first established this community. The commitment is part of The Frankel Challenge, which is designed to encourage and inspire Cranbrook's governors and trustees to raise additional funds in support of endowment, preservation, renovation and other needs for the Academy and Art Museum.

JULIE FISHER CUMMINGS
Julie Fisher Cummings and husband Peter Cummings announced a family gift of $5 million for the new Kingswood Middle School for Girls. Fisher Cummings graduated from Kingswood in '73 before moving to Florida, then back to Michigan in order for her children to attend Cranbrook Schools. The Cummings provided the lead gift for the new Girls Middle School, providing increased classroom, lab and athletic facility space as well as leading-edge classroom technologies. The new building will be named "Kingswood."
