PLANNED PRESERVATION
 

Campaign funds will ensure that the 75-year-old Saarinen-designed KINGSWOOD BUILDING receives the restorative care necessary to preserve its masterpiece status. It requires restoration and preservation of interior and exterior architectural elements. Some projects have taken place and the Kingswood Roof repair is under way.

SUPPORT NEEDED: $2.9 MILLION

 

Re-beautification of THE QUAD is an area of great need as this is the main thoroughfare of the Cranbrook Schools campus. Along with pavement repairs and the installation of a sidewalk snowmelt system, the project will improve drainage and repair storm water and sewage lines. The project includes restoration of THE THOMPSON OVAL.

SUPPORT NEEDED: $2 MILLION

 

Restoration of THE PERISTYLE, LIBRARY AND ART MUSEUM STEPS AND EUROPA PLAZA will ensure that the beauty of these world-renowned architectural spaces can be enjoyed by future generations.

SUPPORT NEEDED: $11 MILLION

 

From the brick pathways to the stone walls and unforgettable sculptures, Cranbrook's campus is filled with important architectural and landscape entities that must be preserved and restored in order to maintain the beauty and grace of this National Historic Landmark. With this architecture comes an aging INFRASTRUCTURE, consisting of plumbing, electrical and other elements that keep this campus functioning. These systems are vital to the community and must be upgraded and restored to keep Cranbrook running smoothly. Other efforts include landscaping, upkeep and maintenance.
